Dr. Hoffman is a former US Army paratrooper, bodyguard, and martial arts school owner. While training overseas in Asia he was exposed to the East Asian medical system including acupuncture, nutrition, and physiotherapies like cupping and tui na.
He completed both his master鈥檚 and doctoral degrees at 海角吃瓜网 of Health and Science. His internships were at St. John鈥檚 Riverside Hospital in Yonkers, NY and Long Hua Hospital in Shanghai, PRC. In the past 20 years in practice, Dr Hoffman has studied with some the best doctors in functional medicine where he focused on the integration of Western biomedicine and integrative diagnostic techniques including blood chemistry analysis, endocrinology, cardiovascular wellness screening and the use of medical infrared thermography. He has performed more than 75,000 acupuncture treatments on over 7,000 patients since starting his practice, which has now grown into the busiest clinic of its kind in the state of Connecticut
The system of medicine he has founded, Integrative Natural Medicine, is a unique blend of his years of experience and combines the best of Eastern medicine and modern functional medical sciences. His practice has fully integrated lab services, in-office testing, treatment, and long distance telemedicine services.
He is the host of the local radio show 鈥淭he Natural Medicine Connection鈥 on 94.1FM WLAD. It is the only show of its kind in Fairfield County, focused on an integrative holistic approach to health. He is a busy lecturer on health topics and co-author of the book Essential Remedies for Women鈥檚 Health, a compendium of healthy advice and information specifically for women鈥檚 issues.
As an adjunct instructor for PCHS, Dr Hoffman has focused on his strengths in Practice-Based Learning and Integrative Case Management classes where he brings real life skills to students based on his own experience. He makes it his mission to teach in a way that is applicable to all the realities of practice management and being a master clinician. Whether helping new practitioner鈥檚 build, integrate and succeed in practice or adapt to changes in medicine such as promotion, insurance and telehealth, Dr Hoffman feels his legacy is to give back to the success of the next generation of practitioners and ensure that this medicine continues to grow.
